Our History

1955

Foundation of Berg+Schmidt

1981

Berg+Schmidt is becoming part of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe

1987

Development of the first rumen-stable fat in powder form: BergaFat

1990

Expands the product range through life science research, Berg + Schmidt adds enzymes to its portfolio.

1995

The first Asian subsidiary opens in Singapore

1998

First Asian production plant begins its operation in Malaysia

2000

A new office and production plant open in India

2005

New production facilities open in Singapore and India, dedicated to deoiled Lecithin.

2012

Another sales office opens in Chicago, U.S.A.

2013

Start of a joint venture with Thailand for the sale of liquid feed fats

2018

Expansion of the Malaysian production plant, with new tech, enables coated nutrient production (LipoAktiv) & introduces plant-based antibiotic alternatives (LipoVital).

2019

Dubai (free zone) sales office opens!

2023

Sales office in Dubai (Mainland) opens to cater for GCC market

2024

Launch of Berg+Schmidt Animal Nutrition with a new look and feel.
